Ar Sangeeta Kumari is an architect with 8+ years of experience in the area of architecture and building industry. She completed her Bachelor of Architecture from Piloo Mody College of Architecture. She has been responsible for designing, coordination and handover of projects nationally & internationally. She has provided 3D models and graphical presentations of the project to clients. She has good experience in preparing working drawings (BIM Revit and AutoCAD) and managing small teams for timely submission. Ar Sangeeta has handled a variety of projects like residential, apartments, office buildings, metro depot, metro stations, competition and research oriented work.She has conducted over 10 workshops in various colleges in India over the years.She has excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with proven abilities in customer relationship management and planning. .Ar Sangeeta won a medal signed by the President of Italy in Florence during the Presentation in “Degree and Profession International competition”-2012. She completed the summit of 500km cycling to the highest motor able road “Khardungla Pass-5359 meters' ' in India- 2017.She organized and participated in “ Biomimicry Workshop” -2012 & 2013 in India. She stood 3rd in Spotlight IIT-Roorkee By cognizance-2010 in India. She was a delegate for “International Conference on Green Buildings & Green Building Congress-2009” in India.

Biography of Speaker

Jonak Das is a faculty member of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad in 2016. He joined the Exhibition Design discipline, and has been the Discipline Lead from 2017 till February 2022. Since March 2022, he has been a faculty member in the Design for Retail Experience Discipline (DRE), at the Bengaluru campus of NID . He guides projects in exhibit design, systems design, spatial perception, form, materials and geometry. His area of special interest is the design of learning tools, spaces and environments. Besides academic involvement, (on behalf of the institute,) he is actively involved in professional design projects involving, pavilion & exhibit design, product design, crafts and pedagogic structure.
Jonak graduated from NID in 1999 in Industrial Design, having specialized in Product Design. Since then he has had over twenty three years of professional experience in the domain of spatial environment, products and experience design, as well as spatial branding and communication design – and has worked on over fifty projects in the domains of pavilion design, museums, exhibitions, interior (retail, office and hospitality), signage systems, environmental branding, event experiences and developing products and systems for these sectors. He has worked with various design firms based in Delhi – Design Habit, Kaaru, Itu Chaudhuri Design and lastly Lopez Design, where he was the Project Director, before joining NID. Craft is another sector that Jonak has been working in. He has done craft product and system development projects for private firms, institutes, NGOs and with NID, and worked as a research associate and field researcher on the NID publication - The Handbook of Handicrafts. On the academic front, before joining NID, Jonak has taught as a visiting faculty at various institutes in India, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and in various departments. He loves to travel, exploring cultural narratives and is an avid reader.

Biography of Speaker

Mr. Ashok Mondal completed his master’s degree in Industrial Design from the National Institute of Design and has more than 14 years of cumulative industry and academic experience. He has worked with Ceramics Industries like Parryware (Chennai), Regency Ceramic Limited (Hyderabad), and Siddhi Ceramic Pvt Ltd (Ahmedabad) as a Designer for several years. In 2010, he joined SIDAC, a craft institute (Govt. of Odisha, Undertaking), as a Designer & Faculty. He was responsible for product development from Odisha Craft for the 1st International Buyer- Seller Meet in Bhubaneswar. He has developed three months training curriculum for artisans in other parts of the state and was involved in setting up the Common Facility Center for Terracotta craft at Khandigiri in Bhubaneswar.
In 2010, he joined NID as coordinator of the East & North-East Zone for Design Clinic Scheme for MSME, a project of the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. As a Designer, he has extensively worked with MSMEs sectors to increase their manufacturing competitiveness and develop product strategies. Also, he was instrumental in implementing Design Awareness Seminars, workshops, and Design Projects in all the states of the Eastern & North-East regions. He has experience conducting more than 150 design workshops and seminars in this sector.
He served at NID-Vijayawada, as faculty for setting up NID-Vijayawada as Coordinator- Academics & Recourses. In 2018, he returned to NID as Faculty of the Universal Design area under the Faculty of Industrial Design at the NID-Bengaluru campus. Later, he moved to the Lifestyle Accessory Design Department at the NID-Gandhinagar campus. His core area of interest is Sustainability & Design, Material Method & Technology, Pottery & Ceramics, Form Study, Design Process, and Craft workshop.

Over the years I have always had an inherent ability for Design in general and Product Design in particular. This inherent talent led me to look at Apparels, Fashion, and Design Process as “Products” too!
After fading laid an academic foundation at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), I decided to delve, hands on, into the various facets of Fashion and the broad spectrum of factors affecting Fashion. This had me indulging in in a variety of fields such as brand management, advertising, designing for a television channel, assisting a senior fashion designer etc.
Now, although primarily occupied in Couture, Pret, and Bespoke Fashion Design and Retail, I indulge in Fashion Academics as a Visiting Member of the Faculty at various institutes such as NIFT, UID, INIFD, Pearl Academy, to name a few.

Biography of Speaker

Farhan Ibnee Abid is a strong believer of design being the greatest tool to make a positive change. Hence Designers are a bundle of greater energy and higher purpose. Farhan has an educational qualification of Bachelors in Architecture from Nagpur University and Masters in Design, DRE (Design for Retail Experience) from NID. He has worked as a Design consultant at Idiom Design Consultancy, briefly in Conceptual Design Thinking, developing process of design development, brand understanding, and experience design. He was an Executive Visual Merchandiser for Titan’s Jewelry division Tanishq, Mia and Zoya. He has worked intensively for Zoya, VM, Store Design, Events and redefining the brand for the upcoming store creating visual language.
Later he was an Associate Designer for Space Matrix Interior Design specifically for corporate office interiors. He has worked in depth with his clients, H&M, Myntra, Stride, Livevox, Sequoia to name a few. Holding over all experience of 4.5 years he has joined NID Bangalore as an Associate Faculty (2021). Apart from this he holds interest in performing art and Indian wear.

She has worked with print media like Star and Style, Grihalakshmi and television program like Kappa Tv Face of the week as Stylist. She has styled Celebs like Aparna Das, Sithara Krishnakumar, Gowri Nandha, Aditi Ravi, Divya Unni, Gayathri Arun, and Alessandra to name a few. She holds a bachelor’s degree from SOFT, Pune and a Master’s degree from Pearl Academy, Chennai. She also owns a Pret Label called Jisha Prasad Atelier.

Architect, Designer, Design Educator, Professor - National Institute of Design
Nijoo Dubey currently teaches at the Universal Design discipline at NID Bengaluru. She has a masters in Furniture & Interior Design at NID, after completing her graduation in architecture from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology.She is currently pursuing her Doctoral studies(PhD) from NID, Ahmedabad. The topic resides at the confluence of Colour-Culture-Products.
Over the years she’s taught in various departments at NID, Furniture and Interior design, Product Design, Design for Retail Experience, to name a few. She enjoys taking courses in Design Process, Form Studies, Colour& Form, Research Methodology, Experience Design, Colour Material Finish, Human Factors, Design Projects etc. As a design faculty at NID, she has been associated with the NID-Asian Paints Colour Research Lab in the capacity of Coordinator. She has worked as a designer for industries and craft sector, while taking responsibility in academic areas such as curriculum development, student evaluation, admission and interview, networking with industries, student counselling etc. She has also conducted Workshops for the client such as Big Bazaar, Kohler, AIG & KPMG on Experience Design, Space Design, Space Trends, Visual Merchandising and Visual Design. She also chaired the first Design Research symposium in the India, “Insight2015”. She has held many positions within NID, ranging from Library committee to Placements and Industry Relations, as well as leading educational departments such as Design for Retail Experience and Universal Design. She has also worked on the Vision 2025 NID report.
Nijoo considers herself a person with creative design capabilities with an eye for detailing and an inherent acumen in fine arts.

Fashion Educator | Digital Illustrator
Ms. Ben currently working as a design faculty in EXPLORE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE L.L.C., DUBAI, is an expert in fashion illustration and art approaches, as well as computer-aided fashion design using 2D and 3D software. Ms. Ben received honors from several fashion shows in 2014 for displaying and creating clothing. She won the Award for the Designer Collection exhibited in National Design Competitions three times from 2013 to 2015. She served as an examiner and subject matter expert for syllabus structuring and exam administration in a number of colleges. Ms. Ben is involved in the syllabus reorganization and textbook development for the 2018 summer courses for women in fashion design offered by the Kerala government. She has served as a judge for many fashion events. Ms. Ben supported designers at regional and international fashion events in India.
In 2012, Ms. Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Fashion Technology from St. Teresa's College in Ernakulam. She was the university topper of the batch 2009-12. Later went on to acquire an MBA with a focus on visual merchandising and fashion retail management from INFD. Since receiving her degree in 2012, she has been employed as a fashion educator. She is currently pursuing a course on sustainable fashion at the London College of Fashion at the University of the Arts London in the UK.

Biography of Speaker

Linda Rojoy is a creative soul passionate about anything to do with art and design. As an interior designer, she believes in creating spaces filled with personality, expression, meaning, warmth and life. In the big world of design, it's often the little things like motifs, prints, patterns, vignettes, art ensembles, handicrafts and textiles that excite her creative instincts. A post graduate in Interior Design, she has always been passionate about design education. During her teaching career, she has conducted various workshops, seminars, and has guided many student projects. Along with teaching, as a part of her own research works, she has participated in various National Conferences on Design. In Feb 2018, she received the Best Presentation award for her research paper entitled "Current Consumer Preferences of Accessories as a Décor Solution" during the 32nd Biennial Conference of HSAI; which was later published in the Indian Journal of Home Science, (Volume 32 Issue 1) January 2019. Another one of her research papers titled "Approaches in Teaching Pedagogyfor Understanding Application of Colour in Interior Design" was published in the Asian Journal of Multidimensional Research (AJMR Vol. 7 Issue 2 Feb 2018). Apart from designing and teaching, Linda loves to read, bake, paint, sing, travel and spend time with family. A former faculty of Cindrebay Trivandrum, she continues to inspire students to manifest their dormant creativity in the best possible ways.

A designer by profession and an educator by passion; Nimi Sanjith is currently on the threshold of her PhD dreams in Germany. A conceptual maverick; with a penchant for all things aesthetic, Nimi Sanjith loves telling stories through her designs. She has a flair to convey her thoughts as quick doodles or scribbles and thus develop bespoke narratives of her chases in aesthetics. More than the final and finished look of a design project, it is the taxing process of idea generation, research, mind-mapping and planning that excites her. Nimi Sanjith has contributed to various articles for the Cindrebay Blog and other design blogs. She has previously presented her papers of research on i) Design Approaches in Design Process – through experiments and ii) House, Home and Aesthetics – translation of aesthetics into a household at design conferences held at Manipal University, Dubai. She has won accolades in her academics as the highest grade achiever and has had a multifarious career with profiles ranging from a Concept designer to Project Coordinator and a Design Consultant spanning through firms in Middle East and Kerala. Nimi is also running her own Design Consultancy – The Aesthetic chase creating and curating interesting design stories for the world to see.
